There are three stages of development of this model, from this one, entirely made by the Fray organization, to B&D-118, made by the Stanley Works with many Fray parts, to B&D-121, made to higher standards of quality and marketed by Stanley as one of their models. The present brace is trademarked Keen Kutter under the E.C. Simmons hardware marketing firm's logo, stamped onto the base of the chuck. It is in generally good condition, with all the mechanical features fully functional, the rosewood handles looking & feeling great (one crack in the wrist handle, securely held together by its pewter rings) and the general finish mostly black magnetite and gray steel.
