B.F.
Massey wrote from Neosho to his friend, Dr.
J.F. Snyder, at Virginia, Ill.:
"One of my
sons, (Frank, my 6th child, and now in his 25th. year). married some 2
or 3 years since a Miss Jones, daughter of Doct. Richard Jones, a
Merchant for a long time at this place. Mr. Jones died some 2 or
3 years ago. A year ago last Nov., the youngest child of the
Jones came of age, and on dividing property the store with some real
estate fell to Frank's wife, and Frank with a brother of hers commenced
to run the old store, and Frank is still at it. Old Man Jones
left no will. The widow took a child's part. I understand
there was something over ten thousand to each heir."
