1.Nicholas Massey, d.1726, Q.A.Co.: Father of 2.James
Massey, d.1759
|
In 1936, J.G. Massey wrote me
that in their joint 1908 research, he and E.T. Massey had been
unsuccessful in proving this Massey line earlier than 2.James
Massey.(2) I had noted the
abstract of the Will of a Nicholas
Massey, with a son James Massey and a grandson Daniel Massey(1) and
called it to J. G. Massey's attention.(2)
He
answered
that he had
been unable to link 2.James Massey
with the Will of Nicholas Massey, d.
1726, Queen Anne's Co., Maryland, and there the matter rested.
|
Then, in 1975, after I had made
contact with Judge Massey and Lou Hough, we all came to the same
conclusion: that 1.Nicholas Massey,
d.1726, Q.A.Co., was the father of
our 2.James Massey, d.1759, Q.A.Co.(3)(4)(5)
|
Meanwhile, Lou Hough secured a
copy of the Will of 1.Nicholas Massey,
d.
1726, Q.A.Co.(6) We
located the Bond as Executor of the estate that son 49.Peter Massey had
been required to furnish; Land Patent records; Deeds; etc. furnishing
proof of our conclusion that, in fact, 1.Nicholas Massey, d.1726,
Q.A.Co., was father of 2.James Massey,d.
1759,
Q.A.Co.
