Excursus X: Pickett

Date
Published Genealogical Records
Source

Stella Pickett Hardy: "The Pickets of Fauquier, " pages 414-538 of Colonial Families of the Southern States of America; 1911.

This publication has been treated with respect by many authors of genealogical and historical articles in both books and periodicals.  It has also stood the test of time in the sense that, to our knowledge, no revision or update has been published.  So, it still stands closest to a formal, "Pickett Genealogy," and Picketts working on their ancestry will find it, I believe, their best source.

Unpublished Genealogical Material

In this Excursus X: Pickett I have deviated somewhat from my state policy of not duplicating published material.  Over the years, Lou Hough and I have each accumulated masses of detailed Pickett family raw data.  From this we have added many details to "The Picketts of Fauquier," which represent the "unpublished" element of this excursus.

The material we have added has been individually footnoted and indicated.  The material which we have taken verbatim from "The Picketts of Fauquier" has not been footnoted.
