Early
on,
we
had heard that a genealogical record of the Gonetz family had
been published in Germany; but before we could track it down, World War
II had broken out, and we never learned whether or not it existed.

We
were
also
told that one of the Gonetz cousins has a completely
worked-out record of the family; but, again, W.W.II prevented us from
finding it. So, Excursus XXIII: Gonetz is assembled from official
records, all written in German. I do not know much German, and I
am totally unfamiliar with the technical terms used in these
documents. So, I have left Excursus XXIII: Gonetz in its original
German, except for birth, marriage and death details.
