(Recorded November 20, 1760): Joseph Parsons of Kent County in Maryland
buys for £110 sterling a 178-acre portion of Miers Luck (adjoining Miers Resurvey)
from Luke Miers and wife Elizabeth, also of Kent County. Acting for the

[Kent
County, Maryland]: This indenture made the first day of November in the
year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and sixty, between
Luke Miers of Kent County in the Province of Maryland of the one part,
and Joseph Parsons of the county aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth
that the said Luke Miers for and in consideration of the sum of one
hundred and ten pounds current money to him in hand paid by the said
Joseph Parsons, the receipt whereof he, the said Luke Miers, doth hereby
acknowledge, and thereof doth hereby exonerate and discharge the said
Joseph Parsons, his heirs and executors and administrators for evermore,
hath granted, bargained, sold, alienated, released, and confirmed and
by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, and confirm
unto him, the said Joseph Parsons, his heirs and assigns, all that part
of a tract or parcel of land called Miers Luck: Beginning at a marked
black oak standing at the end of the South East and dividing line of the
original tract of the [illegible], and being the beginning of said
Miers Resurvey, and running with said [Miers] Resurvey East North East
seventy eight perches, then North West by North one hundred perches,
then North East one hundred and twenty four perches, then East thirty
perches, then South one hundred and seventy four perches, then West by
North thirty four perches, then South by West one hundred and fifty two
perches, then West fifty perches, then North West by West one hundred
and thirty two perches, and from thence with a straight line to the
first place of beginning, containing and now laid out for one hundred
and seventy eight acres of land, together with all and all manner of
improvements, profits, and advantages whatsoever to the same belonging
or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder
and remainders of all and singular the before granted premises in every
part and parcel thereof above granted unto him, the said Joseph Parsons,
his heirs or assigns, forever more. To have and to hold the before
granted premises and every part and parcel thereof above granted unto
him. the said Joseph Parsons. his heirs or assigns. forever more to the
only proper use and behoof of him, the said Joseph Parsons, his heirs or
assigns, forever; and further he, the said Luke Miers, do for himself,
his heirs, executors, and administrators, or assigns, in manner and form
followin,g that is to say, that he, the said Luke Miers, his heirs,
executors, or administrators, in every of them shall and will at any
time hereafter at the request, costs, and charges in the law of him, the
said Joseph Parsons, his heirs, or assigns, make, do, and acknowledge
and execute or cause to be made, done, or executed, all and every such
other and further lawful and reasonable act and acts, thing and things,
[illegible] conveyances, and insurances in the law whatsoever for the
further and better, more perfect, and absolute conveying, and assuring
the premises with the appurtenances above granted in every part and
parcel thereof unto the said Joseph Parsons, his heirs, or assigns,
forever more as by him, said Joseph Parson, his heirs, or assigns, or
his or their counsel learned in the law shall be in that behalf
reasonably and lawfully devised, advised, or required, and also that he,
the said Luke Miers, his heirs, and administrators, the said tract or
parcel of land with its appurtenances in every part and parcel thereof
above granted unto the said Joseph Parsons, his heirs, or assigns,
against the claims and demand of all persons by whomsoever claiming by,
from, or under him, the said Joe Luke Miers, his heirs, or assigns,
shall and will warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the said
Luke Miers has set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above
written.
