Years
ago I found another Stanley brace with aluminum handles (B&D-11)
at a shop on the California coast, but that brace had its other iron
and steel parts galvanized, indicating that it was intended for marine
use. The present brace shows no signs that it was ever even nickel
plated, so these aluminum handles appear to be intended to render the
brace proof against rough use in a shop or mechanical training class.
It does have the Stanley Sweetheart logo stamped on the chuck's
shell. Everything works as it should, and there is no pitting or
mechanical damage on the metal, excepting one (?) wrench scar on the
shell of the chuck and many knife scratches on the aluminum handles
that will be visible in the images when they are viewed separately.
