Millers Falls
No.85 eggbeater drill; second example of Type 15.
The triangular
Millers Falls logo (Greenfield Mass.) and model number are now stamped
astride the affixing screw on the crank. The frame retains its steel
center hub without any provision for a side handle. There is a provision
for the No.1's back-support wiper, but the No.85 style does not use the
wiper. Nor is there any shoulder on the main gear, whose cross section
is narrower now.
The main handle
has a newly rounded shape and is made from thickly red lacquered hardwood
rather than the former rosewood. Nevertheless, the Star pattern,
protected-spring, 3-jaw chuck is still used, but with a longer body.
