Appendix IX
Massey Emigrants from Maryland

Scope of this Book.  As noted in the Preface to this book; my book is limited to two strictly defined areas:
Missouri
The life and career of 6.Benjamin Franklin Massey, 1811-1879, who emigrated from Maryland to Missouri in 1831.  And to descendants of his ten children in Missouri and beyond. Researched mainly by Lou Hough and myself.
Maryland
Kent Co. & Queen Anne's Co.:  The descendants of 1.Nicholas Massey, d.1726 (earliest) proven ancestor of 6.B. F. Massey, until branches of the family emigrants to various areas of the U. S., other than Misssouri.  Researched jointly by Judge Massey, Lou Hough and myself.  I have limited the scope of my book in this manner in order not to infringe on Judge Massey's works.
Judge Massey's Domain.  While my researches have been limited to the Missouri and Maryland areas described above; Judge Massey's researches and publications on the Massey family cover all the States of the U.S. and many areas in Great Britain and Europe.
When the descendants of any 1.Nicholas Massey emigrate from Maryland to other States, they leave the scope of my book and enter the domain of Judge Massey.
The purpose of this Appendix IX is to identify the members of several of these Massey groups that migrated from Maryland into other States.
