This is an aluminum - silicon alloy.
My first photomicrograph was made at 50X; the second was made at
500X. The color balance is a little too green in the first one
and a little too blue in the second.

See if you can work out where this alloy is in the aluminum
- silicon phase diagram and what sort of metallurgical treatment it
either did or didn't have.
