Head length: 6-1/2 inches. The one-inch-square striking face is serrated. Length over handle & head: 12 inches.  This is a rather light hatchet, the blade is mostly very thin.  The head is loose and the handle would benefit from having proper wedges installed to replace a few nails.  The steel has a dark patina with a few rust blisters but no severe pitting.  The cutting edge and striking face are both sound.
