Type C
The
Type C No.2 is a puzzle, because this example has two pinions, yet the
main and crank handles appear still to be rosewood. The crank logo locates
Millers Falls in Greenfield, the rear spindle bearing housing extends to
the main gear's axle bearing housing, a feature first seen in the Type
D, and the crank handle is enlarged, just like the Type D. The
two-pinion and one-pinion versions of the No.2 may therefore have been
produced concurrently for a time. The spindle
nose has grown to its "final" size in the Type C.
