This
fine drill came to me Courtesy of Scott Grandstaff in the Galoot Deal of
A Lifetime. The magnificent handle is Scott's replacement for a long-vanished
original handle, and the chuck is from a later
Millers Falls drill. Even the frame, which is either brass or bronze, has
no maker's marks, but the outline of that frame is unmisteakably the layout
of the early Millers Falls No.2 drill. Furthermore, the main gear bears
the same number and pitch of teeth as (what I think are) its siblings.
